Had astronomy lesson today, made me feel like watching Gravity again.
Can't help but jotting down my favourite scenes and lines. Found more detailed ones online. Shall post them here.
☆ Scene 1 ☆
Matt Kowalski: Listen, do you want to go back, or do you want to stay here?
[there's a pause as they look at each other]
Matt Kowalski: I get it, it's nice up here.
[he starts turning off the lights]
Matt Kowalski: You can just shut down all the systems, turn out all the lights and just close your eyes and tune out everybody. There's nobody up here that can hurt you. It's safe. Then what's the point of going on? What's the point of living?
[there's a pause as Ryan takes in what he's saying]
Matt Kowalski: Your kid died. Doesn't get any rougher than that. But still, it's a matter of what you do now. If you decide to go, then you gotta just get on with it. Sit back, enjoy the ride. You gotta plant both your feet on the ground and start livin' life.
[Ryan closes her eyes and shakes her head]
Ryan Stone: How did you get here?
Matt Kowalski: I'm telling you, it's a hell of a story. Hey, Ryan?
Ryan Stone: What?
Matt Kowalski: It's time to go home.
[Ryan opens her eyes, the alarm in the cabin is sounding she turns her head and sees the seat next to her is empty, she realizes that it was a hallucination and she's still alone, she reactivates the air flow to the cabin and as the oxygen levels rise she begins to recover]
☆ Scene 2 ☆
Ryan Stone: Alright. Okay. Hey, Matt? Since I had to listen to endless hours of your storytelling this week, I need for you to do me a favor.
[she presses some more buttons on the controls monitor]
Ryan Stone: You are gonna see a little girl with brown hair, very messy, lots of knots. She doesn't like to brush it. That's okay. Her name is Sarah. Can you please tell her that Mama found her red shoe. She was so worried about that shoe, Matt. But it was just right under the bed.
[Ryan continues to press more buttons]
Ryan Stone: Give her a big hug and a big kiss for me, and tell her that Mama misses her. You tell her that she is my angel. And she makes me so proud. So, so proud. And you tell her that I'm not quitting.
[she presses more buttons and pauses]
Ryan Stone: You tell her that I love her, Matt. You tell her that I love her so much. Can you do that for me?
[she looks up and smiles]
Ryan Stone: Roger that? Here we go.
[she presses the button that ignites the landing jet and it shoots off towards the Chinese Station]
☆ Scene 3 ☆
[as the capsule is flying towards the Chinese station Ryan puts on her helmet and looks out the window and stares at the station ahead]
Ryan Stone: You're losing altitude, Tiangong. You keep dropping and you're gonna kiss the atmosphere. But not without me, because you're my last ride.
[she puts her hand on the latch that opens the hatch door]
Ryan Stone: Okay. Wait.
[she grabs the fire extinguisher and places her hand back on the latch]
Ryan Stone: Okay.
[she watches the station intently as the capsule gets closer to it]
Ryan Stone: Five, four, three...no more just driving. Let's go home.
[suddenly she turns the latch and the hatch door swings wide open and Ryan is forced out of the capsule, as the capsule spins off Ryan then uses the fire extinguisher to thrust herself towards the Chinese station]
☆ Scene 4 ☆
Ryan Stone: Houston. Houston, in the blind, this is Mission Specialist Ryan Stone reporting from the Shenzhou. I'm about to undock from Tiangong...
[the capsule is shaking violently as it plummets towards earth for re-entry]
Ryan Stone: Uh...and I have a bad feeling about this mission.
[she laughs]
Ryan Stone: Reminds me of a story, Houston...
[suddenly there's a sounds of something exploding outside]
Ryan Stone: Aah! Aah! Aah! Never...never mind the story, Houston. Never mind the story. Aah! It's getting hot in here. Okay. Alright. Okay. Alright, the way I see it, there's only two possible outcomes. Either I make it down there in one piece and I have one hell of a story to tell, or I burn up in the next ten minutes. Either way, whichever way, no harm, no foul!
[she laughs as the cabin gets hotter and continues to shake violently]
Ryan Stone: Because either way, it'll be one hell of a ride. I'm ready.
[she grabs her helmet and puts it on, outside we see the station is on fire and breaking apart, the Shenzhou is spinning wildly and everything is heating, Ryan manages to press the button to activate tri-module separation and the cabin plummets towards the surface of he earth along with the rest of the pieces of the station all scorching with fire]
